Mark D. Powers accepts commissions from Private Collectors, Gallerists, Art Consultants, and Interiors Designers

The process is simple and starts with a conversation by phone or email to discuss the project, timeline, and cost. A visit to Mark’s San Francisco studio can also be arranged if you or your clients prefer an in-person meeting.

A commissioned painting of San Francisco is one of the most unique gifts a person can receive.

PRICING: Commissioned painting fees are charged by the inch ($7) to keep things simple, and start at $700 for a 10" x 10" painting on a cradled birch panel. Commissions require a 50% deposit upon approval of the project terms.

TIMING: The timing of projects varies, depending on the artist’s availability and project scope, but generally a six-week minimum should be expected. This process allows sufficient time for production, artist wizardry, paint curing and varnish applications.

SOURCE MATERIALS: With few exceptions, Mark works from his own reference images to create each painting. After careful study and documentation of the subject (he basically stalks a place until the perfect shot happens), Mark will collaborate with you or your client to curate and select the perfect image and composition for your painting.

Once simple terms are agreed to, (this is when the deposit is due), Mark will proceed with the painting process using the highest quality archival materials available. He will keep you or your client updated along the way with in-progress images.

EXTRA SERVICES: Mark can deliver and install your paintings locally in Northern California, or the pieces may be shipped nationally and internationally.
